Spa Treatment For Your Eyes: JayJun’s Eye Gel Patches

I’ll be honest here, I did buy these based on its gorgeous packaging. BUT, I also do love JayJun’s products. These eye patches are like a spa treatment for your eyes!  I bought the Roselle Tea ones first and I fell in love with it. You can see specks of tea leaves infused in the patches and it smells amazing! I can’t stop smelling thy Roselle ones. Inside there are 60 patches (30 uses). It is really refreshing once placed on the skin. I saw immediate results after using it. They really hydrate and brighten up the eye area. Much better than most of the other eye products I have used.

I haven’t tried the Green Tea yet but you can also see specks of tea leaves in there. They seem to have more essence in it making it more slippery looking. Both the textures are smooth and gelatinous.

You can find the Roselle ones on yesstyle.com but they ran out of the Green Tea ones (which can be found on Amazon).

A Very Hydrating Serum For Your Skin

As you know, I’ve been trying out Amorepacific’s products for the past few months and this is the Youth Revolution Vitamin C Radiance Concentrator . I’ve been trying it out for a month and a half now and I am really loving it. This liquid serum is designed for all skin types and helps with fine lines and evens out skin tones. I’ve been applying this day and night and I’m so in love! This serum is very lightweight and absorbed into my skin really well. I love that it doesn’t leave a tacky feeling on my skin. It actually feels like a very hydrating serum. It has improved my skin tone a lot. I’m really impressed with the results. This is my new HG product.

The base formula consists of green tea polysaccharides which helps to calm and purify the skin as well as white peony to help with overall tone and firmness. It is also packed with vitamin C to brighten the skin!

The scent might be bit overwhelming in the beginning so you may want to test it before investing in it. I’m sensitive to certain fragranced products but I find their scent very pleasant. It’s pricey for sure, but a little goes a long way.

*Tip – remember to always give the bottle a shake to mix the two chambers together*

The Case Full of Seoul

Found this beautiful set at Costco and couldn’t resist bringing it home. This is an 8 piece skincare system featuring some of the top brands in the world of Kbeauty. It comes with a booklet with detailed instructions on how to use each product and also lists all the ingredients for each product. Inside the box it even shows you when to use each product (am/pm/weekends).

This box contains of:
– a 120ml rice foaming cleanser from 9 Wishes
– a 40ml toner from Maycoop (its a toner, emulsion and essence in one) – a 50ml repair essence serum from Urang
– a 12g Camellia wrinkle free eye cream from Tov
– a 50ml moisturizer from Maycoop
– a 30ml primer from Touch in Sol
– a 30ml vitamin oil serum from Urang
– 2 sheet masks from I Woke Up Like This

The packaging is beautiful and is $149 (which may seem a bit on the pricier side), but if you look at the products, they are a decent size for the price you pay. It is definitely affordable for those who wish to try out a Kbeauty routine. This case was crafted by a Seoul-based company called Umma, to ensure that all products work together for the routine and is good for all skin types. I will be trying out this set for the following week to compare them to other items in my skin care collection. Stay tuned for the reviews!

Tatcha’s The Essence Plumping Skin Softener

This was my first essence ever. I Just finished my bottle and I have to say I’m obsessed with it. I’ve never tried any other essences so can’t really do any comparison, but I love how it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, plump and radiant. I just love how my skin feels after. It’s light and absorbs quickly. I’ve never incorporated essence into my routine until last year and now I will always make sure I do.

In the beginning when I first tried it, I was skeptical of it. It thought it was just “expensive water” in a bottle. I didn’t think it would do much for my skin, but surprisingly I felt an immediate difference to my skin. It felt softer, more hydrated and looked more plumped. I’ve been using it ever since.

I’ve read good reviews about it but I also wanted to test it out and see for myself. What a difference it has made to the texture of my skin.

As always, the packaging is always gorgeous. It’s so simple, yet very luxurious. The bottle has a spout which makes it easy to control how much I use each time. When I do my routine in the morning and at night, I’m always looking forward to using the essence! Ya it’s pricey, but a little goes a long way. (A bottle can last for almost a year).

Use your hands to pat it on your face. Don’t use cotton pads as it will absorb most of it before it gets on your face. You’ll end up wasting most of the product.

Dr. Jart+ Dermask Rubber Mask Moist Lover

I was shopping at Sephora one day and came across these neat looking masks. I love and use Dr Jart’s sheet masks occasionally. I must say, at $16 for one mask, it was quite pricey. However, I do love trying new products, especially masks, so I picked one up. It’s been sitting around for awhile now. I guess I was waiting to use it for a special occasion lol. Anyhow, I decided to give it a try last night and here are my thoughts.

I love that it felt cool and refreshing (while it was on). Looking at the picture, the mask seemed to be thicker, but when I actually pulled it out, it wasn’t and you would have to be really careful because it rips easily. I was quite surprised as I tore a few holes and I don’t even have long nails. After 30 minutes I removed the mask but didn’t find it did much to my skin (as some of the other masks I have tried) and the ampoule left an oily and sticky residue on my face. I didn’t feel it melted into my skin, but rather just sat on top leaving my face feeling sticky and eventually I had to wash it off. I wish I could say I loved it, but it didn’t really do much for me so I won’t be repurchasing.

SPF is your BFF!

When it comes to skin care, the best and most important advice I can give is to wear sunscreen every day.  I have a love-hate relation with sunscreen.  They’re either really thick, goes on really greasy and leaves my skin breaking out or they leave a white cast over the skin and causes my skin to itch.

Over the years, I’ve tried many sunscreen and out of the many I’ve tried, this one here is one of my favourites especially for summertime. This sunscreen is gentle for sensitive skin and isn’t heavily fragranced. I like that it is light and absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a white film on my skin.  It is perfect for the summer with its high SPF.

Fresh Beauty – Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash

YUM! This is one of my favourite exfoliators! This is a gentle exfoliating face cleanser that cleanses and removes impurities while refining the look of pores for a smooth and brighter-looking skin without drying out your skin. When it comes to trying new exfoliators, I get very nervous. I have sensitive skin so I’m always worried about skin irritation but I was really curious about this one and with summer coming up, why not?! I have to say, when I first used it, I was hooked right away!

At first I was really worried about the crystals being too harsh for my skin, but it actually wasn’t so bad. The crystals melted into my skin once I began massaging it onto my face. I love how my skin feels after using it, my skin wasn’t irritated at all. After washing it off, my skin was instantly glowing. I am not kidding and I wouldn’t say it if I hadn’t seen the instant result. I’m so happy to be adding this to my routine! It’ll be my new replacement for my LaNeige Mulitberry Yogurt Peeling Gel (since that isn’t sold in Sephora anymore).

The texture is really nice. It is thick, but not heavy. It feels amazing when applied to the skin. It has two sizes of sugar crystals that exfoliate away dead skin as well as cleansing soap berry peel extract. I also love that there’s grape seed oil for hydration as well as strawberry and black currant fruit extract for a healthier-looking complexion.  Oh and have I mentioned, the smell is amazingly delicious!

You so have to be careful when you open it, it runs out pretty quickly. I learned that after the first use in the shower 😅.

AmorePacific’s Treatment Enzyme Peel

So, let’s talk about AmorePacific’s enzyme peel. Okay, so when I first saw this, it didn’t really appeal to me. When I saw the word peel, I automatically thought it would be something harsh and abrasive, but surprisingly, it wasn’t. This is one of their most popular products and after you read this review, you will understand why.

I’ve been using this for the past two months and it seems like I barely used any. With occasional use, this bottle can last you for quite a long time! When I first opened it and poured it out, I was surprised to see fine powder. I was thinking, “so how is this suppose to exfoliate my skin?” Well, let’s find out!

This enzyme peel is meant to be a gentle powder exfoliator using natural papaya enzymes to eliminate dry, dull and dead skin cells at the surface of your skin and give it a more soft and smooth complexion.

This was the first time I had ever used an exfoliator that didn’t have any scrubbing bits in it. When I added water to the fine powder, it lathered up into this luxurious foamy texture and just felt so creamy and soft on the skin. At that time I didn’t think it was working. It didn’t feel like it was exfoliating my skin and that’s probably because I’m so use to actually feeling srubbing bits as I clean. After about 30 seconds, I washed it all off and wow, my skin looked brighter instantly and it was amazingly soft. I thought, “What?” I would have used it on my whole body if it wasn’t so expensive!

Although it can be used as a daily exfoliator, I wouldn’t suggest it. I used it every day (for two weeks) after my oil cleanser and for me, I found that it made my skin a bit tight and dry, so I stopped for a few days. After that, I used it only 1-2 times a week and that worked out much better. This was probably because my skin is sensitive so it couldn’t undergo that much exfoliation. It does have a scent to it (like all their other products), but it is a very light, clean smell which doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve smelled worst! The treatment enzyme peel doens’t contain any parabens, sulfates, or harsh chemical additives. Overtime it has many anti-aging benefits. It helps to treat fine lines and wrinkles, signs of sun damage, sun spots and pigmentation. I’ve only been using it for a short time so will have to see.

The top of the bottle has a dispenser that is supposed to dispense an even amount each time, however, I find it to be too much. I only use about a dime size.  I add little drops of water until I get the consistency I want. You gotta make sure the ratio is right. Using too much water will make it very runny and it won’t work. Also, don’t keep it in the shower. It will get wet and clog up. Yes, this product is not cheap, but depending how often you use it, the bottle can possibly last you up to a year. For me, I think it is worth it. Overall I’m quite impressed with this product.

AmorePacific’s Treatment Toner

This year is my first time using AmorePacific’s products and I have to say, I love them so far! They first caught my eye with their luxurious packaging and fancy ingredients. I’m not usually a toner person, but this toner has really worked well for me. It was unlike any other toners I’ve tried, which dried my skin out and left it feeling tight. This was one of my first purchases from AmorePacific and I was really content with it.

One important thing I must remind everyone when using toner is not to use cotton pads. I know some other toners may require cotton pads but you do not want to do that with this product. You will end up wasting most of it as the cotton pad will absorb most of it before it gets onto your skin. You don’t want this expensive goodness to go wasted. What I do is place a few drops onto the palms of my hands and gently press the toner onto my entire face just letting my skin absorb it all. It feels so refreshing and a whole bottle can last you a long time.

It contains red Ginseng Root which helps stimulate the skin’s metabolism to energize and revitalize the skin. It calms and soothes skin, reducing redness and irritation and provides antioxidant protection. The Asian botanicals used are designed to reduce redness and leaves the skin feeling hydrated.

I have noticed that their products are fragranced, which usually isn’t something l like, but the smells aren’t too overwhelming and they are always a light and nice refreshing scent, so for me, it’s been okay. If you are sensitive to smells, I would suggest testing it out first. This is definitely a luxury product, but it works really well for all types of skin especially sensitive ones.

Laneige’s Waterclay Mask

Today I want to talk a bit about LaNeige’s Waterclay Mask. I was looking for something to shrink my pores (around the smile lines). Originally I had purchased their pore blur perfector. Then I came across their Waterclay Mask. It looked interesting, but I was hesitant as I wasn’t sure if it would be right for my skin type. I tried many clay masks in the past and they really dried my skin out and it was just horrible. However, the sales rep at Sephora told me it would be great for my dry and sensitive skin so I gave it a try.

That night I applied it on my face after cleansing and toning. It felt so nice and refreshing on the skin. The mask comes in a clay gel-like texture and dries pretty quickly once applied.  As it was drying, it got tight and I got worried that my skin would be left really dry and irritated. I waited about 15 minutes before rinsing off. It was kinda cool to see all the gunk on my nose and some areas of my face once the mask had dried. Surprisingly, once it was all off, my face felt soft and hydrated and very refreshed. I was blown away. I immediately saw results. My pores were visibly smaller.  It’s effective without stripping my skin of its moisture. Love that it included a sea sponge to remove the mask.

It isn’t a mask you can use too often. I noticed when I tried to use it 2-3 times a week, my face did start to get dry so I stuck with once a week and it has been working great. If you’re someone with sensitive and skin this mask is perfect for you. I didn’t believe it would work for me at first, but it does and I’m so happy I gave it a try. The clay mask does what it claims to do and I would repurchase once I’m done!
